Nerve pain is especially troubling for people because it may not respond to pain medication. And in some cases, no surgical treatment exists.

Spinal Cord Stimulation and Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation are effective treatments for patients struggling with back pain and nervous system dysfunction, specifically dysfunction involving the nerves.

At Renew Pain Solutions, our team is dedicated to providing the most effective and least invasive treatments possible. We are pleased to offer both Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) and Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation (DRG) as part of our pain control options because they are far less invasive than major surgical solutions, yet they provide lasting relief for many patients.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=”https://providers.priviahealth.com/search?network_affiliation=Renew+Pain+Solutions%2C+LLC&sort=relevance%2Cnetworks%2Cavailability_density_best” url_new_window=”on” button_text=”Book an Appointment” _builder_version=”4.27.5″ _module_preset=”default” custom_button=”on” button_text_color=”#8dc63f” button_bg_color=”RGBA(255,255,255,0)” button_border_color=”#8dc63f” button_border_radius=”5px” button_use_icon=”off” custom_padding=”0.25em|2em|0.25em|2em|true|true” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}” button_bg_color__hover_enabled=”on|desktop” button_bg_color__hover=”#8dc63f” button_bg_enable_color__hover=”on” button_text_color__hover_enabled=”on|hover” button_text_color__hover=”#FFFFFF” custom_css_main_element_last_edited=”on|phone” custom_css_main_element_phone=”width: 100%;||text-align: center;”][/et_pb_button][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||0px||false|false” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row make_equal=”on” _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” width=”90%” custom_padding=”||0px||false|false” custom_css_main_element=”align-items: center;” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.24.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.5″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_font=”||||||||” header_2_text_color=”#3f7fc2″ header_2_font_size=”55px” header_3_text_color=”#3f7fc2″ header_3_font_size=”55px” custom_margin=”||16px||false|false” header_2_font_size_tablet=”” header_2_font_size_phone=”42px” header_2_font_size_last_edited=”on|phone” header_3_font_size_tablet=”55px” header_3_font_size_phone=”42px” header_3_font_size_last_edited=”on|phone” custom_css_free_form=”selector em {|| color: #8DC63F;||}” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

What is Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS)?

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” text_font=”||||||||” text_font_size=”18px” text_line_height=”2em” custom_margin=”||8px||false|false” custom_css_free_form=”selector sup {|| font-size: 12px;||}” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Spinal cord stimulation can provide relief for patients with chronic, severe pain conditions that have not responded to treatment or that aren’t treatable via surgical means. The leads are then connected to a battery system which sends an electrical signal to the leads which interrupt the pain signals traveling to and from the brain. Since your brain doesn’t receive those pain signals, you don’t feel the pain.

This trial procedure is an outpatient procedure done under light sedation with local anesthetic but does not require general anesthesia.

Because SCS requires precise placement, patients will have a trial placement first. The trial uses one or two temporary leads, which we place in our office, and an external battery. We will have you use the trial setup for five days. If it relieves your pain, then we will surgically implant the device at a hospital or ambulatory surgery center. This permanent implant procedure requires deep sedation or general anesthesia, but patients do go home that same day.

For many patients, SCS is quite effective at treating pain, delivering the relief that other approaches have failed to provide.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||0px||false|false” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row column_structure=”3_5,2_5″ make_equal=”on” _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” width=”90%” custom_padding=”||0px||false|false” custom_css_main_element=”align-items: center;” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”3_5″ _builder_version=”4.24.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.5″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_font=”||||||||” header_2_text_color=”#3f7fc2″ header_2_font_size=”55px” header_3_text_color=”#3f7fc2″ header_3_font_size=”55px” custom_margin=”||16px||false|false” header_2_font_size_tablet=”” header_2_font_size_phone=”42px” header_2_font_size_last_edited=”on|phone” header_3_font_size_tablet=”55px” header_3_font_size_phone=”42px” header_3_font_size_last_edited=”on|phone” custom_css_free_form=”selector em {|| color: #8DC63F;||}” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

What is Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation (DRG)?

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.26.0″ _module_preset=”default” text_font=”||||||||” text_font_size=”18px” text_line_height=”2em” custom_margin=”||8px||false|false” custom_css_free_form=”selector sup {|| font-size: 12px;||}” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

A second option we have for patients who need help with nerve pain but who are not candidates for surgery is dorsal root ganglion stimulation, or DRG.
